The Importance of deversity for organism preservarvartion

You know that organisms vary.Deversity is also found among the members of a particular species of organisms. it has also been discussed that varety is necessary for organisms to keep their existence.
Deversity is very important for orgabism preservation. Animal or plant having more varieties will be more everlasting.On the other hand,animal and palant having fewer varieties will be less everlasting.
Why does a high level of diversity guarantee the preservation of organisms?Why do organisms with fewer varieties have hing possibility to become extinct? Organisms always interact with their environment.Naturally,those who are successful in this interation will survive . In this relationship , it is easy to understand that if the variety level of particular organisms is high, it is very likely that they are succerssful in the interation . Let us pay a close atterntion to the following example.
We focus on two population in a particular habitat. other population in the habitat are ignored.
Population A is supposed to have 10 spacies while population B has only 4 species . During their interation with their environment , it is found out that there are only 5 variety of population A seccussful . So , which population has better opportunity to continue to exist ? is it true that organisms having more varieties will have a better chance to exist?
